Sabeel cohorts battle it out on the turf

On a buzzing day in Whitechapel, the pitch at Mulberry School transformed into a lively arena of competition, laughter, and unity as the Sabeel cohort held its exciting 5-a-side football tournament.

With 10 teams battling it out in a display of energy, sportsmanship, and brotherhood, the tournament brought together students in a healthy mix of fun, fitness, and faith. The atmosphere was electric—goals, tackles, and cheers filled the air from kickoff to the final whistle.

Emerging as champions were Team Sihab, showing exceptional skill and teamwork. Team SDP11 followed closely behind, securing second place after a hard-fought campaign. Both teams were celebrated with trophies and medals, but it was the spirit of brotherhood and togetherness that truly won the day.

Beyond the sport, attendees were treated to a powerful Islamic reminder delivered by Shaykh Wahid, who also took on the role of referee, ensuring the tournament was not only competitive but also grounded in Islamic values. MRDF mashayekh attended this tournament to provide guidance and tarbiyyah on and off the turf.

From meaningful moments off the pitch to relentless action on it, the event was a beautiful example of how imaan, fitness and fun can come together. A huge congratulations to the Sabeel team for putting this tournament together and to all who took part in making it a memorable and purposeful day.
