Empowering Communities and Inspiring Change

MRDF at the First Muslim Third Sector Careers Fair

Saturday marked an inspiring day as the first Muslim Third Sector Careers Fair took place, organised by LEAD (Learn, Equip, Advance, Deliver) a pioneering training organisation dedicated to empowering Muslim charities, NGOs, non-profits, schools, community associations, mosques, and Islamic centres across the UK.

MRDF was honoured to be part of this groundbreaking event, showcasing our ongoing work within the community and highlighting the opportunities available within the Muslim third sector.

MRDF attended alongside several of our supported projects, Sabeel, Family Events, and Islamic Council each bringing their unique contributions to the community and demonstrating the breadth of initiatives that MRDF supports.

From engaging educational programmes to community building events, guiding families and business, these projects reflect MRDF’s commitment to nurturing the Muslim community, building people and providing guidance.

It was great to see such enthusiasm and interest from the attendees such as students, professionals, and volunteers alike, all looking to use their skills and passion for the betterment of society. The vibrant energy at the event underscored a growing awareness of the important role Muslim-led organisations play in community development and social change.

The event also resonated deeply with attendees, many of whom expressed how meaningful the experience was:

“I am a university student and I attended this careers fair because I wanted to give some of my time to the charity sector. I want to contribute and make a positive impact to our community.”

Another attendee shared:

“I came to this event today to learn more about the third sector as I did not know much about it. It was such an eye opener and I feel more informed about how charities work.”

These reflections perfectly capture the spirit of the day, one of curiosity and connection with organisations.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to LEAD for organising the Muslim Third Sector Careers Fair and for providing MRDF and other organisations with the opportunity to connect, collaborate, and inspire.

Events like this strengthens our community networks, and open doors for the next generation of Muslim professionals and volunteers to engage with purpose-driven work that benefits society at large.
