TREK FAQs

How do we travel to Ben Nevis?

If required, we can provide transport to and from Ben Nevis for participants of the MRDF Nevis Trek. You will be contacted with the exact details of the meeting point/time, but currently all transport will be leaving from East London on the 29th of June (AM). Other areas can be arranged if there is a demand insha Allah – please contact us.

You are also free to make your own way to Ben Nevis or travel with other challengers. You will be contacted to let you know the meeting point at Ben Nevis on 30 June Morning for those making their own way. Please ensure you are on time.

What shall I wear?

Wear comfortable clothes e.g. loose trousers or bottoms and a loose top.

How about trainers?

We recommend light hiking boots for ankle safety.

Do I need to bring my own food and water?

Yes, but please remember you will be carrying your own food. Ensure you bring a lot of water and small snacks to keep you going.

Are there toilets on the way up?

Try to control what you eat for breakfast or the night before so you are not rushing for the toilet. There are no toilets on the way up but from previous experience, even after drinking a lot of water, a lot of it tends to be used up in re-hydrating your body.

Will there be any qualified first-aiders?

Yes, again there will be a couple brothers who are qualified first-aiders.

How long will it take to reach the summit?

We intend to get to Ben Nevis for early on the 30th of June and then we will then begin the walk and stop a couple times for breaks and lunch. We aim to complete the whole trek in roughly 9-10 hours and then return back to London on Saturday evening – arriving back early Sunday morning insha Allah.
