The journey began in Medina Al-Munawarah on Friday 14th August. Besides the studying of the seerah, the group went on a comprehensive tour of Medina. This included Mount Uhud, the ruins of Ka’b ibn Ahsraf, the orchard that Salman Al-Farsi (RadiAllhu anhu) worked on as a slave, the well that Uthman ibn Affan (RadiAllhu anhu) bought to provide drink for the people of Medina, Masjid Al-Quba and others.
We also visited the Quran Complex where over 10 million mushafs are printed each year. We were also fortunate to listen to attend lectures by Shaikhs who are experts in seerah and other sciences. We visited an exhibition of Masjid An-Nabawi wherein the guide answered fascinating questions about the Masjid and the baqee graveyard.
We visited the Islamic University of Medina and were later invited to a banquet by one of the officials at the university.
Our journey took us to perform the Umrah in Makkah on Wednesday 19th August. We continued out studies of the seerah as well as partaking in a tour of Makkah. This included visiting the graveyard where many of the companions are buried, mount Noor and Thawr and other places.
